theological worldview

So my theology is emergent or postmodern. That explains a lot. For several years I've described myself as "liberal" because I often question traditional interpretations and practices. But I've never really felt comfortable with liberal theology either.

I've heard about emergent/postmodern Christianity, but have not bothered to research it too much. I think, now, that I should probably continue to not research it further, lest I embrace it too fully and lose touch with the historical church.

It helps, though, to know that I'm not just a lone wayward soul who struggles to connect with the church culture. No, I'm a postmodern soul who struggles to connect with the church culture. :-0

You scored as Emergent/Postmodern. You are Emergent/Postmodern in your theology. You feel alienated from older forms of church, you don't think they connect to modern culture very well. No one knows the whole truth about God, and we have much to learn from each other, and so learning takes place in dialogue. Evangelism should take place in relationships rather than through crusades and altar-calls. People are interested in spirituality and want to ask questions, so the church should help them to do this.

Yikes man

I think that survey is seriously flawed, or at least missing my category.

It scored me almost the same as you, but I know this much: There is very little I embrace about the Emergent/Post Modern movement. Seems to much like new wine in old wineskins to me.

But then again, I am not the kind of guy that embraces any movement, other than using the matter between my ears to think for myself.

But it was certainly fun! At least I now know that I am not a fundamentalist.

I got postmodern/emergent as well... which is completely wrong, what a silly quiz.

I can't speak to the accuracy or inaccuracy of the quiz. I will note that, though I'm not thrilled with the label "postmodern," most of the description does fit me. I'm not fully comfortable with either traditional or contemporary worship services. I have more questions than answers about God, and I find that I learn more in honest dialogue than in any other way.

Additionally, as I understand it, a dislike of labels is one of the hallmarks of postmodern thinking, so it may be that those who the quiz scores as postmodern will recoil at the notion.

I took this test a few months ago. As I recall, I was about 85% Wesleyan, 75% Reformed Evangelical, and 50% Fundamentalist.

i was emergent/postmodern when i took the quiz and i think there is those quite a spectrum of where people fall and practice within this label and then there is small perception of where people fall and practice within this label. it's just a label though. i don't get bent out of shape about it, but i do find the emergent sensibilities quite refreshing. yet, it is an evangelical background which i am not of, so we differ at times as well.
